Course Info
Purpose

This course will let the participant operate a fast rescue boat including correct launching while underway. Train boat maneuvering, recovery procedures and preventive maintenance. Practical experience will be gained through realistic emergency scenarios, enabling participants to develop the problem-solving skills required in case of malfunction.

Structure

The course is conducted as theoretical and mostly practical training at VIKING Safety Academy. Emphasis will be given on safety aspects and maintenance. Boat handling exercises subject on participant level.

Content

The course will cover the following training: • Boat / davit readiness • Release mechanism • Painter line adjustment • Launching and Recovery • Dead ship operation • Lashing and securing in the stowed position • Weekly and Monthly routine Maintenance as per MSC.402(96) and maker instructions • Man Overboard Drill

Target group

The course is designed for Coxswains, Seafarers designated as FRC Operators, Engineers, Davit Operators, Senior Safety Officers and Masters.
