Course Info
Purpose
The course aims to cover the requirements given in the Norwegian regulations on the qualifications and certificates for seafarers section 47 and STCW A-VI/2-1.
Structure
The course is conducted as theoretical and practical training at VIKING Safety Academy. “Hands-on” training will ensure the required competence in Lifeboats and MOB boats.
Content
Upon completing the course, participants should be able to operate and take command of a MOB boat, free fall lifeboat or conventional life boat in a safe manner. At course end participants should be able to demonstrate competency as described in the STCW Code table A-VI/2-1, and take command of a Rescue Craft, FreeFall Or Conventional LifeBoat, including MOB boats. Participants will be able to demonstrate competence as required in the STCW code A-VI/2-1.
Target group
Crew members designated as LifeBoat or MOB boat coxswain.
