Course Info
Purpose
This STCW course is designed to fulfil the requirements of STCW table A-VI/2-1, providing knowledge to the participant on how to operate and take command of a survival craft in a safe manner.
Structure
The course is conducted as theoretical and practical training at VIKING Safety Academy. “Hands-on” training will ensure the required competence in Lifeboats and MOB boats.
Content
Upon completing the course, participants should be able to operate and take command of a MOB boat, a liferaft and a conventional lifeboat in a safe manner. Training in crew coordination and communication during survival craft operations in simulated emergency situations. At the course end, participants should demonstrate competency as described in the STCW Code table A-VI/2-1 and take command of a Rescue Craft, including MOB boats.
Target group
Coxswains or other personnel with tasks in lifeboats, liferafts and MOB boats.

Revalidation to be conducted every five years
