The course aims to provide knowledge for seafarers with designated security duties. The course provides relevant training to those who have been appointed to fulfill security duties, including anti-piracy and anti-armed robbery-related activities on board a ship, to increase the security and safety of the vessel whilst in port, or at sea.
The course is conducted as e-learning.
To successfully pass the Designated Security Duties course, the participant must be able to: - Maintain the conditions set out in a ship security plan - Recognize security risks and threats - Undertake regular security inspections of the ship - Demonstrate proper usage of security equipment and systems, if any
The course is designed for crew undertaking designated security duties onboard.

Cirka 255 minutes, but the course can be taken in the seafarer’s own pace.
There are no prerequisites for attending this course.
Upon completion of the theoretical elements of the course a Certificate of Proficiency can be downloaded under "My Courses".
No revalidation needed.
