Purpose

The course aims to provide knowledge for seafarers with designated security duties. The course provides relevant training to those who have been appointed to fulfill security duties, including anti-piracy and anti-armed robbery-related activities on board a ship, to increase the security and safety of the vessel whilst in port, or at sea.

Content

To successfully pass the Designated Security Duties course, the participant must be able to: - Maintain the conditions set out in a ship security plan - Recognize security risks and threats - Undertake regular security inspections of the ship - Demonstrate proper usage of security equipment and systems, if any
