Purpose
The STCW PSSR course provides knowledge in safe working practices onboard the ship as well as towards the environment. The candidate will learn the importance of adhering to established emergency procedures, alarm signals, escape routes, muster points and contingency plans. Upon completion of the course the candidate will know how to act in daily life and work onboard the ship and most importantly in case of an emergency.

To successfully pass the PSSR course, the participant must be able to: • Comply with emergency procedures • Take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment • Observe safe working practices • Contribute to effective communications onboard • Contribute to effective human relationships onboard • Understand and take necessary actions to control fatigue
