This blended, STCW course, is designed to fulfil the requirements of STCW table A-VI/3, providing knowledge to the participant on how to perform correct fire-fighting in the event of a fire on the ship in a safe manner. This course aims to prepare you first, through the online theoretical lessons at your own pace to complete the practical part successfully.
The course is conducted both as e-learning and practical hands-on training. In order to participate in the practical session, first, you need to complete the online theoretical session at your own pace.
Upon completing the course, participants should be able to control fire-fighting operations aboard ships including; • fire-fighting procedures at sea and in port, with particular emphasis on organization, tactics and command; • communication and coordination during fire-fighting operations; • ventilation control, including smoke extraction; • control of fuel and electrical systems; • fire-fighting process hazards; • fire precautions and hazards associated with the storage and handling of materials; • management and control of injured persons; and • procedures for coordination with shore-based firefighters

To participate in the practical session, you need to have completed the online theoretical part and be in possession of a valid health certificate for seafarers and STCW Basic Safety Training A-VI/1
STCW approved certificate under Danish Flag (DMA)
Revalidation to be conducted every five years
