Course Info
Purpose

This course will give you the necessary knowledge in order to perform safe enclosed space entrance, proper atmosphere testing, identification of the various enclosed space hazards, safe drills execution and work safely inside Enclosed Spaces. Train yourself on enclosed space entry permit procedures and proper use of SCBAs and EEBDs. Exercises will enable students to develop skills required in a variety of different enclosed space scenarios.

Structure

The course is conducted as theoretical and mostly practical training at VIKING Safety Academy.

Content

Upon completion of the course you will be able to: • Identify and evaluate Enclosed Spaces • Enclosed Space atmosphere testing • Gas detection • Enclosed Space Hazards • Enclosed Space Entry permit • Drill organization and duties • Personal Protective Equipment • Ventilation of Enclosed Spaces • Use of SCBA • Evacuation from Enclosed Spaces, Self-rescue and Basic rescue • Use and inspection of EEBD • Communication of Entry team • General precautions • Basic use of: Tripod systems, Fall protection equipment • Perform work tasks safely inside Enclosed Space

Target group

The course is designed for seafarers with assigned Enclosed space duties, Safety Officers, Masters, Surveyors, other Enclosed Space entrants.
