Course Info
Purpose

VIKING Safety Academy’s onboard training program ensures that crew are professionally trained for the operational requirements and/or preventive maintenance of Fast Rescue Boats and/or Davit systems including maneuvering and recovery procedures. Practical experience will be gained through realistic emergency scenarios, enabling participants to develop the problem-solving skills required in case of malfunction.

Structure

The training program consists of theoretical and mostly practical training. The final duration and cost will be determined upon conclusion on the final training content. Quoted price per training day available below.

Content

The training may cover the following objectives: • Boat / davit readiness • Release mechanism • Painter line adjustment • Launching and Recovery • Dead ship operation • Lashing and securing in the stowed position • Weekly and Monthly routine Maintenance as per MSC.402(96) and maker instructions • Man Overboard Drill

Target group

The course is designed for Coxswains, Seafarers designated as FRC Operators, Engineers, Davit Operators, Senior Safety Officers and Masters.

Prerequisites

A classroom area for the theoretical part | Manuals and certificates of the equipment that will be used | Rescue Boat and Davit station available for operation | Customer must obtain necessary permits from local authorities/ yard regarding Lifeboat' operation.

Certification

VIKING Safety Academy Diploma will be issued on successful completion of the course.
